Olivia Kaplan

27 year-old Olivia Kaplan was born and raised in Los Angeles, and came to music in living rooms and cars blasting the best of Simon and Garfunkel, the Beach Boys and Aretha Franklin. At 13 she started writing songs on her dad’s Guild acoustic and since then she has dedicated herself to the craft with greater and greater acuity. After pursuing a formal vocal and music education in high school and college, she left a conservatory level jazz program at McGill University in Montreal and made her way back home to record her own songs, while getting her degree in ethnomusicology at UCLA. She has released two EPs, Goddamn, I Miss You (2014) and At the Seams (2018). Until the pandemic, Olivia had been very active in the live music scene in LA, headlining at clubs such as The Echo, Bootleg, Zebulon etc... She has opened for War on Drugs and Buck Meek (Big Thief), and has toured with Courtney Marie Andrews.
