Nat Vazer
Melbourne creator, Nat Vazer, is known for her heart-stopping lyrics that weave between confessional indie-rock and guitar-pop, building on the folk tradition of storytelling through song.
From the age of five, Vazer was introduced to the piano - raised by working class immigrant parents who believed classical music could teach discipline, and who also wanted to give her what they might have wished for as kids. But growing up in a house of 60s and 80s records (The Animals, The Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel) opened a portal to rock 'n roll bands and folk songwriters. A self-taught guitarist, Vazer stole her father's guitar during highschool and began playing in punk bands, capturing early guitar sounds on a free PC program called ‘Sound Recorder’.
In 2020, Vazer released her debut album ‘Is This Offensive And Loud?’ which was nominated for The Australian Music Prize and listed in several best-album-of-the-year lists including NME Australia.
2023 has seen the songwriter-guitarist debut in the US playing at SXSW, New Colossus Festival (New York), WFNM in Los Angeles and an East Coast US Tour. Her latest single ‘Strange Adrenaline' was premiered on Los Angeles' KCRW and is a first taste of her forthcoming sophomore record - delving deeper into the haunting stories of the young songwriter and her expanding ritual of ‘building worlds’ within song.
New album 'Strange Adrenaline' is arriving on 6 October 2023.
